The Blind Boy's Academy (BBA)

The guiding force has been the words of Swami Vivekananda- "We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one's own feet." By following their message Blind Boys' Academy has been trying to develop the visually impaired students physically, educationally and intellectually with an objective to put them in the mainstream of the Society.

This is a residential institution for education, training and rehabilitation of the visually challenged boys. It offers general education up to class XII. Following are the matters of its trainings : Vocational Music, Industrial Vocation, Computer, Agriculture & Animal Husbandry, Swimming, Embossing Braille books in six different languages, Braille Library, Audio Book Preparing, Testing and Assessment of Low Vision, Mushroom Farming Books on various subjects for school as well as college students in English, Bengali, Sanskrit, Oriya and Manipuri are produced in its Regional Braille Press. The Press also provides a Training-cum-Production progrmme.
